Explore Career and Educational Possibilities in Mathematics

Students who take a Math class or pursue a degree in Math learn skills that can be applied to a wide variety of career paths and educational goals. Examples include data analysis, systematic thinking, problem-solving and technical communication.
Math students at COCC work closely with their adviser to develop transfer plans based on their degree and career goals. Students who complete their Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer (AAOT) degree at COCC, and then complete a bachelor’s degree in math, are prepared to launch careers in a wide variety of fields. Employers often seek out graduates from math degrees because of their versatile skill sets. Graduates with bachelor’s and master’s degrees are qualified for a number of careers in business, nonprofits, government and education.
