Mathematics
Why study Math?
The science of numbers is connected to life all around us, and Mathematics at COCC opens new ways to examine and explore the world. While the study of math involves computations and calculations, it also incorporates reasoning, problem-solving, even creativity — skills that are fundamental to success in most career fields. Math faculty are passionate about their subject matter, bringing personalized attention and engaging methods to connect with students, whether in person or online. From pre-college algebra to vector calculus to data science, see how Math at COCC can put you on a journey of logic-based discovery.
"Before going to COCC, I really struggled — math never really ‘clicked.’ COCC’s Math program helped me find my confidence as a mathematician and taught me how to be a critical thinker."
