Designing Partnerships

We’re here for you — COCC has a long history of collaborating with industry and educators to develop the very best skilled workforce for the region

Using a partnership-driven approach, Manufacturing Technology at COCC works closely with local industry, area schools and community agencies to meet the ever-changing workforce needs of Central Oregon. Connect with us to build pipelines for highly skilled, job-ready employees or manufacturing internships and student practicums. Or be a seat at the table to impact industry-relevant curriculum and outcomes. We offer collaboration on things like high school-based training programs that inspire the next generation.

Partners regularly contribute to curriculum discussions, workforce initiatives and school-based programs that introduce students to manufacturing careers. The program focuses directly on the competencies local employers are hiring for: fabrication, welding (SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW), machining (manual and CNC), blueprint reading, material handling and shop safety.

An advisory board comprised of local industry leaders — which over the years has included Nosler Inc., BasX Solutions, Keith Manufacturing Co., Max Manufacturing, ISCO Manufacturing, Advanced Northwest Welding, PCC Schlosser and others — helps COCC stay at the forefront of learning, bridging the gap between education and the workforce.
