Manufacturing Technology

Why study Manufacturing Technology?

The field of manufacturing is hands-on, precision-based and innovative — ideal for those who like to solve, design and build. With high-caliber training that's centered on industry specifications, Manufacturing Technology at COCC teaches comprehensive, practical skills in welding and machining using state-of-the-art tools and tech. Coursework is designed to serve both those new to the trades or individuals looking to fine-tune prior experience, all offered in small-class, safety-first environments. Based at COCC's Redmond campus in the Manufacturing Technology Labs, the program emphasizes employability skills and career guidance, helping place students in versatile workforce roles.

"Employee skill-level requirements continue to rise beyond the historical task-oriented positions and now require advanced skills that grow and change quickly. Being able to hire employees from COCC that already possess these skills is a big benefit for Nosler and other local manufacturers."

Mike Lake, director of Nosler Inc.'s innovation division
