Sponsored Dual Credit (SDC)

To teach a College Now course, high school instructors must complete COCC's instructor approval process in accordance with the Oregon Standards for Accelerated College Credit Partnership and meet the same education and training requirements as COCC instructors in the discipline. Instructors who do not meet the state's qualifications may pursue alternative approval through Sponsored Dual Credit (SDC).

Through Sponsored Dual Credit, a COCC faculty member partners with the high school instructor to provide the added support and training needed to articulate the course. Faculty lead the training sessions as part of a Professional Learning Community (PLC) that meets throughout the academic year. Not every course offers an SDC training, and those that do typically run the training every other year.

COCC Course SDC Training Dates

BA 101Z: Introduction to Business

The Sponsored Dual Credit training for BA 101Z is composed of a training day in October 2026. There will also be 2-4 professional learning community meetings throughout the school year. Dates will be discussed and set in the October training. Participants must attend all trainings and professional learning community meetings to be approved to articulate.

The Sponsored Dual Credit training for WR 121Z and WR 122Z is composed of a week long training from August 10 through August 14th, 2026 with monthly professional learning community meetings during the school year in October, November, January, February, April and May. Participants must attend all training days and professional learning community meetings to be approved to articulate.
