One-year certificates of completion are designed to give students a foundation for careers in graphic design and illustration.

  • Graphic Design

    Graphic Design - One-Year Certificate of Completion (CC1)

    The Graphic Design One-Year Certificate of Completion provides a thorough foundation in the fundamentals of design: color, typography, composition and how to apply them using an industry standard approach. Students apply current production methods and techniques to relevant projects that consider branding and target market. Courses cover unique aspects of graphic design including print and digital designs, vector art and graphics, digital photography, and brand/style guide development. The combination of courses is intended to give students the knowledge and skill set to augment their transfer degree and/or consider a career as a freelance or entry level graphic designer.

  • Illustration

    Illustration - One-Year Certificate of Completion (CC1)

    The Illustration One-Year Certificate of Completion provides a thorough foundation in digital illustration using an industry standard approach. Each course covers a unique aspect of the illustration program, including vector art for graphics and illustration, concept art, and narrative illustration. The combination of courses is intended to give students the knowledge and skill set to augment their transfer degree and/or consider a career as a freelance illustrator.

    Photography/Videography - One-Year Certificate of Completion (CC1)

    The Photography/Videography One-Year Certificate of Completion provides a thorough foundation in the fundamentals of commercial, fine art, and documentary photography/videography and their application using industry-standard approaches. Students apply current production methods and techniques to relevant projects that consider target market. Curriculum topics include the history of photography, use of the camera, lighting techniques, and digital editing. This combination of courses is intended to give students the knowledge and skillset to augment their transfer degree and/or initiate a career as an entry-level photographer or videographer.

    UX/UI Design - One-Year Certificate of Completion (CC1)

    The User Experience and Interface Design (UX/UI) One-Year Certificate of Completion provides a thorough foundation in the fundamentals of creating information visualizations, conducting user research, designing digital products and applying them using industry-standard approaches. Students apply current production methods and techniques to relevant projects that consider target market. Courses cover user experience research methods, design principles, interface design, and usability testing. This combination of courses is intended to give students the knowledge and skillset to augment their transfer degree and/or initiate a career as an entry level UX/UI designer or researcher.

The College's art curriculum includes courses in art history, two-dimensional and three-dimensional design, graphic design, drawing, illustration, painting, sculpture, digital and darkroom photography, ceramics, jewelry, and metalwork.
