Disbursement Information: Spring 2026

We are excited you are attending Spring term at COCC. Below is helpful information about your financial aid for the upcoming term. Important deadlines may affect your ability to pay your costs or receive a refund.

Registration and Enrollment
Financial aid amounts depend on the number of credit hours you have April 10, 2026 at 5 p.m. The amount you receive may be different from what is currently showing on your Bobcat Web Account.

    • Offered amounts begin at full-time (12 or more credit hours) but may be reduced during the second week of the term based on your enrollment.
    • Late starting or short-term classes in which you are enrolled in are included in your enrollment for financial aid. Financial aid may not disburse until your classes begin.
    • Dropping a late-starting class within the 100% refund period, not attending or having a class cancelled may result in a reduction of financial aid.
    • Classes must be taken for credit, not audit, to count toward financial aid.
    • Increasing financial aid offers for added enrollment can only be made if you are waitlisted in a late-starting class on April 10, 2026 at 5 p.m.; AND add the class within the 100% refund period; AND notify the Financial Aid Office after adding the class.
    • Part time offer information can be found on the Compare Financial Aid webpage.

Repayment of Financial Aid
You "earn" federal financial aid by attending class. If you do not attend long enough you may have to repay a portion of your aid.

    • Withdrawing, auditing or ceasing to attend may result in financial aid repayment. Incomplete (I) grades may also result in financial aid repayment and affect your completion rate.
    • Details of COCC's repayment policy are on COCC's website.

Bookstore Credit
You may be able to purchase up to $600 in books and supplies on credit at the COCC Bookstore beginning March 2, 2026. If eligible, you may charge books at the COCC Bookstore until 5 p.m. April 10, 2026.

    • To be eligible for a bookstore credit, your financial aid must be ready for disbursement and exceed your charges.
    • Check your Bobcat Web Account dashboard "Messages" tab to see if you have a bookstore credit available.
    • Books and supplies charged at the Bookstore will be added to your term charges and subtracted from financial aid.

Refunds and Account Balances
Unpaid balances result in fees of $30 per week. Pay any outstanding balance after financial aid has been disbursed by April 17, 2026 to avoid late fees. The maximum amount of late fees applied is $90.

    • The Cashiering Office sends refunds for processing the first business day following disbursement.
    • For more information, please review COCC's refund process.

All Loan Borrowers at COCC
To receive a loan, you must be enrolled in 6 or more credits at the time of disbursement to be considered eligible for federal student loans.

    • You have the right to return a loan disbursement or cancel the loan in part or entirely. Notify the Financial Aid Office in writing within 60 days of your loan disbursement if you want to cancel part or all of your loan.

Satisfactory Academic Progress
To maintain eligibility for financial aid, you must comply with certain academic requirements. Failure to meet these requirements may result in the denial of aid at COCC.

    • You must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 and a completion rate of 66.67% or better.
    • Aid is limited to 150% of your program credit length (approximately 135 credits for a two-year degree and 75 for a one-year certificate). As soon as it is clear you cannot graduate within this period, you become ineligible for aid.
