Expanded Senior Leadership Team (SLT) Pilot
What
The Expanded Senior Leadership Team (ESLT) will expand to include representatives from faculty, classified staff, and all vice presidents. This group will meet monthly to discuss pressing issues, review the budget, and make collaborative decisions. It will function as a shared governance body, committed to student success and prioritizing the collective needs of the institution.
When
This team will be a pilot from November 17, 2025 – June 8, 2026. After June 8, 2026, the structure, membership, meeting frequency, and other logistics will be reassessed.
Why
Shared governance is a cornerstone of effective leadership in higher education, grounded in collaboration and shared responsibility. It ensures that input, decision-making, and accountability are distributed among faculty, staff, and administrators. By recognizing the unique expertise of each group, shared governance fosters a culture of mutual respect, transparency, and trust. More than a process, it reflects a commitment to inclusive leadership that values all voices in shaping the institution’s direction and advancing its mission.
