Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Application Guide

Program Overview

COCC will launch an RN to BSN program in Fall 2026. As part of a one-of-a-kind state-wide consortium called the Bachelor of Science: Nursing Community College Collaborative (BSNCCC), this program is designed for registered nurses who already hold an AAS degree in Nursing. Students will complete coursework online while finishing with an in-person capstone experience right here in their home community.

The colleges within this consortium are Central Oregon Community College (COCC), Linn-Benton Community College (LBCC), Chemeketa Community College (CCC), Oregon Coast Community College (OCCC), Treasure Valley Community College (TVCC), and Klamath Community College (KCC). This program increases access to the BSN for rural and place-bound students by blending online coursework with local academic support.

The community colleges of the BSNCCC are proud to participate in this innovative statewide collaboration designed to improve workforce preparation and educational attainment for nurses in Oregon.

Seven (7) students will be awarded admission into the BSNCCC through a lottery-based selection process into each of the six colleges for a total cohort of 42 students.

Selection Process

Admission into the BSN-CCC program at COCC is determined through a fair and transparent lottery process. In-district residents receive priority consideration, and selections are randomized using Excel to ensure equity for all applicants.

1Lottery Grouping

In-District Applicants are placed in the first lottery group and receive priority consideration. The COCC District consists of all of Deschutes, Crook, and Jefferson counties, the northern portion of Klamath County, and the Warm Springs Indian Reservation in Jefferson and Wasco counties.

Out-of-District Applicants are placed in a secondary lottery pool and will only be considered if seats remain unfilled by in-district applicants.

2Seat Offers

  • Seven (7) seats will be offered from each college in the consortium for a cohort of 42.
  • Five (5) alternates will be selected.
  • If fewer than seven in-district applicants apply or accept, remaining seats will be filled from the out-of-district pool using the same lottery process.
  • All communication will be sent via email.
