Upper Deschutes Watershed Geology and Hydrology
Learn about the geology and hydrology of the Upper Deschutes watershed
Speakers: Jason Gritzner, Watershed Program Manager, U.S. Forest Service; Danielle McKay, University
of Oregon.
May 15, Watershed Tour – full day tour, 9 a.m.- 4 p.m.
The Watershed Tour will be held outdoors at various tour stops with an emphasis on
what has been learned during previous sessions. Potential tour stops will include
Wickiup Reservoir, La Pine State Park, Bend’s Old Mill District, North Canal Dam and
irrigation diversions.
May 28, 6-8 p.m.
Fish Reintroduction in the Deschutes Basin
Learn about reintroduction of salmon and steelhead trout above the Pelton Round Butte
Dams

City of Bend Water Use and Beavers as Watershed Engineers
Learn about water use and conservation efforts by City of Bend and learn about beaver’s
role as a habitat restoration engineers
